Vocations

The life of a Little Sister of the Poor is a life filled with a deep love for God

for the elderly, and each other
Our simple lives are unique, for in addition to the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience , we take a vow of hospitality. Our humble lives are enriched with joy everyday as we live the mission, as our Blessed Foundress, Jeanne Jugan did serving our elderly poor in every aspect of their lives.
  • By our very lives, the Little Sisters of the Poor instill a respect for human dignity and the inviolability of human life.

  • For over 165 years, the Little Sisters have served the elderly poor in 215 Homes in 31 countries.

  • We welcome our Residents as family, and respond with love, dignity and respect to their needs and hopes.

  • The height of our vocation is to nurture spirituality and assist the dying.
